The Sound of Colors of Delvis: Synesthetic Art Exhibition – A Harmonious Symphony of Science and Art for the Five Senses
On March 12th, The Sound of Colors of Delvis, a synesthetic art exhibition, grandly opened at the Delvis Art Space, located at 86 Sinan Road in Shanghai. At this moment, a "sensory laboratory," transformed from an Italian home space, has quietly come to life.
This exhibition, a collaborative effort by the Italian home art brand Delvis, the INVENTI as curatorial agency, and The Beauty of Science as image creator, delves into the seamless integration of science and art. Through the use of macro photography, multi-sensory interactions, and cutting-edge installation art, it reimagines natural materials—metal, wood, fiber, and stone—into captivating, immersive experiences that transcend the ordinary.
On the opening day of the exhibition, Mr. Stefano Del Vecchio, founder and president of Delvis Group, and Mr. Gianluca Cozzarolo, executive vice president of Delvis' design and product development department, were present. They engaged with distinguished guests, including Alberto and Liam from INVENTI, Wenting Zhu from Beauty of Science, artist Eileen Tao, representatives from the artistic fragrance brand ’S White Dew, and live music performed by Tibetan artist Kelsang Dorjee. Delegates from the Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Association, along with designers, artists, and key media figures from the industry, also graced the occasion.
Five-Sense Immersion: Unlocking the Secrets of Materials in Four Thematic Exhibition Areas
The exhibition takes "natural materials" as its narrative theme, weaving a multi-dimensional tapestry of sound, light, colour, and fragrance across four immersive thematic spaces: Harmony of Metal, Resonance of Wood, Tactile Expression, and Stone Melodies. Each artwork is accompanied by a bespoke colour spectrum and musical notes, collectively forming four distinct melodies. These are further enriched by a meticulously curated olfactory experience provided by the fragrance brand ’S White Dew. Together, these elements harmonise to create a captivating symphony of the senses, infusing the exhibition with richly layered sensory dimensions and evoking a profound emotional connection with its audience.
(NEW EXPERIENCE) THE MICROSCOPIC LAB BY WENTING ZHU
The Microscopic Lab will be hosted by Wenting Zhu (朱文婷), co-founder of Beauty of Science, who will reveal the secrets of the microworld by examining Delvis materials under a microscope. Guests are warmly invited to join this captivating demonstration and uncover the hidden intricacies of these natural elements.
On the opening evening, guests immersed themselves in the secrets of art during a guided tour of the exhibition. Tibetan musician Kelsang Dorjee performed on the mandolin and Dranyan, a traditional Tibetan string instrument. His evocative melodies, deeply rooted in the plateau's heritage, not only celebrated the purity of traditional Tibetan music but also embodied the innovative and exploratory spirit of contemporary Tibetan musicians.
Meticulous Co-Creation: Artist Eileen Tao Leads Natural Handcraft Workshop
In this exhibition, the natural material handcraft workshop, led by artist Eileen Tao, invites participants to transform raw materials into unique artworks. Through this creative process, the workshop rekindles a profound dialogue with nature, allowing guests to reconnect with its essence in a deeply personal and artistic way.
On the opening night, six fortunate guests, selected through a draw conducted by Gian and Eileen Tao, had the opportunity to participate in the Eileen Tao Artist Private Workshop. This exclusive session allowed them to immerse themselves in the creative process and experience on-site artistry firsthand.
Combining Delvis' premium materials—such as metal, leather, and fabric—guests experienced the organic shapes that naturally emerge when these elements intertwine in their hands. Through this hands-on exploration, they discovered the materials' striking sculptural qualities and remarkable versatility. Guided by Eileen Tao, participants delved into the unique charm and potential of each material, uncovering the artistry inherent in Delvis' craftsmanship.
The Eileen Tao Artist Private Workshop will be open by reservation and will run throughout the one-month exhibition period. The workshop offers two creative options: Wall Hanging and Objects, allowing visitors to choose their preferred artistic experience. Advanced registration is required, and for more details on how to reserve your spot, please click "Read More" at the bottom of this article.
The Power of Art: Building a Sensory Epic with Delvis
The exhibition fully showcases Delvis' continuous absorption of nutrients from design culture, shaping the brand values of "Passion, Vision, and Quality" from an artistic perspective. Through skilled craftsmanship, Delvis transforms high-quality materials such as leather, marble, wood, and metal into furniture with high artistic value.
Delvis emphasizes that its home design always centers on natural materials. This exhibition is an extension of the brand's "Italian craftsmanship" philosophy. Based on a boundless enthusiasm for extraordinary techniques and deep attention to every detail, Delvis makes each piece a uniquely charming masterpiece.
The Voice of Colors·Delvis is not only a visual feast but also a philosophical inquiry into the essence of nature by the Delvis brand. Using avant-garde technology as a brush and traditional materials as ink, it writes a contemporary fable of the integration of science and art, launching a poetic journey that awakens the five senses in springtime Shanghai.
